Edulab
Edulab is an educational room created to enhance the recently restored park, offering tools for hands-on activities and naturalistic insights. Inside, you’ll find a 3D model that faithfully reproduces the park and an interactive multimedia installation composed of three games, designed to stimulate curiosity and foster learning:
A treasure hunt that guides visitors to discover points of interest and botanical treasures within the park. A super memory game to train memory while having fun. A seed and plant matching game, designed to help familiarize visitors with the local biodiversity.
The setup is completed by a collection of seeds from the main plant species that populate the park, offering a tangible starting point for explorations and educational activities.
Sala Scampoli – Remnants Room
The new exhibition room “Scampoli multimediali,” located in Villa San Giacomo within the Villa Durazzo park, offers an immersive and direct experience into the life and work of Camillo Sbarbaro. The environment, designed to resemble the writer’s study, combines the evocative atmosphere of period furnishings with the potential of contemporary technology, aiming to make Sbarbaro’s work accessible to the widest possible audience.
Digital screens, videos, and audiovisual content allow visitors to independently explore the writings, research, and passions of the poet and author from Santa Margherita Ligure. In addition to his main works available in digital format, the room houses a display case with some of the lichens collected by Sbarbaro and a bookshelf containing several original volumes, offering an authentic and valuable insight into his literary and scientific activity.
Museo del Mare – Museum of the Sea
The Multimedia Rooms of the Museum of the Sea are located inside the 16th-century castle that overlooks the seaside promenade of Santa Margherita Ligure. This evocative space represents the heart of the “Museo Diffuso del Mare” (Widespread Museum of the Sea), a unique experience for those wishing to discover the city’s maritime history and traditions.
Through interactive and engaging installations, such as “speaking paintings” where important historical figures come to life, as well as videos and audiovisual content, the multimedia journey takes both adults and children on a true trip through time. Don’t miss the underground room, where display cases house precious archaeological artifacts found on the seabed of the area. Here, lights and projections reflect on an exposed rock, recreating the magical atmosphere of the underwater world.
